SEMICON West and the Secondary Equipment Market

Day 2 at SEMICON West was a productive day meeting new people at our booth and attending the ≤200mm Semiconductor Manufacturing Is Here To Stay Forum, presented by SEMI Secondary Equipment and Applications Special Interest Group. Among many other industry professionals, SEMI and Texas Instruments highlighted a number of key topics on the secondary-equipment market and the world of Semiconductor.
Christian Dieseldorff, from SEMI, kicked off the forum with the following thought: “imagine fab data at your fingertips anytime and anywhere”. On behalf of SEMI, Dieseldorff presented the facts of a new report called “FABVIEW Online Data and Forecast”. She noted that the report not only has fast access to FAB information, but also contains three years of data and next year’s forecast.
Further into the forum, Karen Erz with Texas Instruments (TI) spoke about “300mm Analog Success”. Erz stated, “Used Tools should always be the first option. Don’t go buying a new tool unless you’ve already looked for a used one”. Continuing the conversation, Erz expressed that 92% of TI’s tools are pre-owned. Erz concluded her presentation by suggesting that a leap of faith and making a change is a huge advantage in this industry.
Along with Dieseldorff and Arz, we also saw presentation from employees at Yole Development, Applied Materials, and others. Hearing these semiconductor professionals speak about the secondary-equipment market that EquipNet is a part of was a refreshing way to spend yesterday afternoon in the Moscone Center.
Now we are onto the final day of SEMICON West 2016! If you missed us earlier this week, come visit us at Booth #2629 in South Hall to learn more about the secondary-equipment market and asset management solutions.
